Bhupinder Singh Kullar - A name that has become synonymous with the LIVE UK Bhangra scene ever since its inception. His infectious smile is something that has become just as memorable as his flawless, unmatched live percussion sets. To the rest of us, Bhupinder Singh is better known as Dholki master, Tubsy, whose career has spanned 30+ years in the live UK Bhangra scene, performing alongside the industry’s finest, namely, Kuldip Manak, Yamla Jatt, The Safri Boyz, Malkit Singh, Sat-Rang, Jazzy B and Diljit Dosanjh, as well as being a prominent figure in the kick starting of many artists' careers in the UK Bhangra scene.

Anyone that knows Tubsy, either on a professional or personal level, will know first hand his selfless nature, but also his inextinguishable love and passion to see Panjabi music flourish. It's this fire we witness week in, week out, on stage - where he pours his heart and soul into the instrument that has become synonymous with his name, almost as much as his smile - the Dholki. This is something that cannot be put into words. It has to be witnessed. Pure wizardry, to say the least!

As well as his unforgettable live performances, Tubsy has been behind the scenes, recording his signature percussion for many producers in the game. The notable highlights being ‘Moorni’ by Panjabi MC, ‘Das Ja’ by DJ Sanj, and the 90s UK Bhangra anthem, ‘Dhola Veh Dhola’, by Sat-Rang. Tubsy’s percussion even featured on the remake of the Bollywood classic, ‘Yamla Pagla Deewana!’ This was a personal career highlight for him. “Working on the Yamla Pagla Deewana song was absolutely amazing. It was the most emotional experience to witness my 3 superheroes, Dharmender, Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol, dance to the sounds of my Dholki on the big cinema screen. Truly, a surreal moment.”

Not just sticking to the Bhangra and Bollywood scenes, Tubsy’s percussion can also be heard on the global hit track by Apache Indian, ‘Arranged Marriage’, as well as hitting the mainstream, working with the likes of Mariah Carey and Timbaland!

Tubsy continues to be a very active member in the UK Bhangra scene, pushing young talent through the ranks, so that the scene continues to flourish when he decides to hang the gloves.
