Caroline Jariwala’s ability to turn old pieces of crockery into stunning works of art has taken her around the world. The Sandwell–based artist has been commissioned far and wide to produce intricate and beautifully crafted mosaics for schools, community spaces and even a pub.
Commissioned by Creative Black Country in 2016 Caroline produced a beautiful mosaic depicting dancers and dhol drummers for the Desi Pubs project showcasing part of the mural at Southbank’s Alchemy festival.
Her mosaic art is often inspired by the replicating patterns discovered within nature, and also by the Rangoli designs and Mendhi patterns of Caroline’s Indian heritage.
You won’t have to search too far around the Black Country to discover the artist’s work and she has just added more to the list with Wild In Arts’ latest Bear project ‘The Big Sleuth’. You can spot Caroline's Bear 'Sweet William' in Cathedral Gardens, Birmingham.
