Willard Wigan homecoming exhibition at Light House Media Centre.
Artist Willard Wigan MBE, who was raised in Wolverhampton, creates tiny sculptures that are magnified for display. Typically these are small enough to fit in the eye of a needle or on a pinhead – even a motorbike, smaller than a blood cell, within a human hair.
His work has been collected by HRH Prince Charles, Simon Cowell and Elton John. He has been commissioned by HRH the Queen herself and given a TED talk about how he discovered a passion for creating miniature art.
Internationally renowned Wigan has announced that his latest work will be a sculpture of Noddy Holder reflecting his view of the region – that incredible beauty and creativity is all around us, but that because of the Black Country’s natural modest nature, it sometimes needs to be discovered and highlighted.
As someone who has mastered his art form, the artist will be invited to place the first nomination to 100 Masters.
